Weber conversion fuel pressure regulator

Recentlly updated to a weber 32/36 carb on my 1990 islander heard rummors of adding a fuel pressure reg between the pump and carb?is this true and why?

Its not a rumor, its a must. Your Weber is made to run at 2.5 lbs. of pressure or so, your stock pump is putting out something in the neighborhood of 8. Get a fpr, I got a Balkamp at NAPA, cost about $25.

You must be like me and not want to read the directions until all else fails..; )
The manual will reccomend setting it to 3.5. However, the rule of thumb on this board is that 2.5 will get you better results in off camber situations.

I was thinking on running the Weber 32/36 as well. I too had no idea of the pressure change. God I love these posts. Going to save myself alot of grief.
