Junk yard weber?

Has anyone tried using a weber carb, off of an import? Like a toyota Z-car with a I6? or something similar? When I've been to the yard, seems like just about every Japanese car used a weber of some sort, something has got to be cheeper than $400.00 for 1 lb of aluminum.
I'm looking for an alternative for my '77 CJ5's, Carter 1 barrel POS. I have no problems with adapters and fabrication, so any Ideas are welcome...

Re: Junk yard weber?

I've heard all about the MotorCrafts and It's on my list of options, but I like the Idea of running all the options first. Webers were use widely, I just have this feeling that there's a super cheep carb that will work perfectly, in addition to the MotorCraft. Webers are way easier to Re-Jet...

Re: Junk yard weber?

I have a rebuilt MC2100 (marked 1.08). I have a 1bbl 232 and do not want to change manifold so I am selling it. If interested, email me at [email protected]
