York AC ?\'s

I know that there has been a lot of talk about using these for oba systems on the board. My problem is identifying them. I have four of them at my disposal, and none of the tags match up to what everybody says the displacement ought to be. On the tag, there are three lines of numbers, which one do you read to get the displacement of the pump?

My girlfriend said if I spent one more dime on my Jeep she would leave. Man I'm going to miss her!

Re: York AC ?\'s

I have that page printed out at home. But my tags don't have the f2xxy anywhere on them. Am I looking at the wrong tag or in the wrong spot? All of my donors have the tags, so I would prefer not to have to take the clutch out of all of them to find the right number if I don't have to. They all have a top number that begins with an M, a middle number that begins with AMC and a bottom number that has a four didget hyphonated number. Any other ideas?

Zilla, did you ever get more then one pump?

And where did you get them? I've been looking for a while and so far the only place I've found them are some volvo places, and the damn things dont even fit under a jeep hood.

Re: York AC ?\'s

I didnt know you were seriously looking for a York . Are you asking me to locate one for you or are you just practising your typing . I think I know where one is , I`ll see if it`s still there next weekend . It`s off a 79 Waggie .I`m going to put a complete set of brackets on Ebay right quick so maybe let me know . The brackets around here are harder to locate then the pumps are .

Re: York AC ?\'s

Thank you! That was what I was wondering. I guess I'll get to start taking things apart! I've found 1/2 a dozen of these things around in my local junkyard. Found a bracket on a 76 pacer yeasterday too. Now I have to pencil this into my budget!

Re: York AC ?\'s

It's semi-serious.

If the price is right, and the compressor is in good condition, I would buy it and let it sit in my garage until I figured it all out and started the project.

I'm going to do my front and rear bumpers first, then cage, then OBA. (Meaning it's going to be a while until I start.)

How about..
If the brackets dont sell on e-bay, I'll buy them off you.
I'll grab the compressor from a yard some time in the future.
How fast do the Vancouver area yards change their stock? get new stock?
The impression I got last time I was there was that it wasn't very frequently..
