Canadians Heed this warning...

Well, about a month or so ago when I was doing the MC2100 swap, I decided to get my adapter plate from Summit.

The credit card bill just came in, and that $12.75 USD part has cost me over $75 CDN.

With shipping, handling, the part, brokerage fee, the project has gone seriously over-budget.

I thought about sending it back, but then without being refunded shipping, and their bend over and take it re-stocking fee, it would probably just cost more.

This will be the last time I ever order Summit, or ship by UPS.

(BTW, Canadian Tire sells Mr. Gasket stuff... and supposedly they have an appropriate adapter plate.)

Re: Canadians Heed this warning...

Hey man I could have told you that. Anytime you buy something from the US you have to acount for our weak canadian dollar, tax as some as it crosses the border, and a massive shipping cost. Even when you buy locally its a lot more expensive than what the american jeepers pay cause the stores have to order almost everything from the states. I paid 45 bucks for my adaptor plate at the locall speed shop and I wasn't pissed off because there isn't a damn thing I can do about it. Canadian tire charges way to much for specialty automotive parts I would check the local speed shops first.

Re: Canadians Heed this warning...

Make a friend in the USA and then send your parts to them, they take it out of the package, repackage it for you then send it to you regular post, probable would have saved you $50!

Re: Canadians Heed this warning...

Just don't, whatever you do, send anything, ever, by Airborne Express. I've had three packages shipped by Airborne Express, two of which were lost (one I never recieved, and the other had been in their van for more than three weeks), and the third I didn't recieve on time because the driver refused to let my brother take delivery....and no, no signature was required.

I'd rather it go thru Guam on the back of a mule.

You can trust me with your life, your safety, and your property, but not too many nights in the same room with you.

Why do we border a country like U.S.A. who we trade with every day with, and our dollor is like $0.46 difference what is with that?????????????????????????????????????

For what ever it's worth, I live in Vancouver Washington, and have accounts with several different auto parts suppliers in Portland Oregon. I'd be willing to help save a Canadian a buck or two on some parts. Send me a private email.
