AMC 360 wiring help needed

Looks like I might actually get to hear the 360 fire up this weekend!! I have a couple of questions 1st. The 360 I am using is a 76, and I assume has the prestolite ignition. How do I wire the distributor? I don't use the ford module on my jeep (86cj7), do I?...does it just take constant battery voltage, or is it keyed? the only wires coming from the distributor looks like a male 2 prong plug. the alternator will wire up just like the 258 that was in there, right?..how about the coil? one ground, and one to the positve side of battery, right?...thanks again...I hope I made these questions clear...Ben

Re: AMC 360 wiring help needed

Thanks Ozarkjeep. I am eventually goung to do the TR upgrade, but was wanting to see how good the motor runs before I spend money on the upgrade when I may need the money for the engine. What are you asking for the ignition box you have? Thanks, Ben

Ozarkjeep, that's really nice of you!
Sometimes I remember why I hung out here instead of on the Pirate board....
------------------

Which do you want, wiring diagram for the Prestolite, or the Motorcraft/ DuraSpark system?
I'm going to tell you right now, you WILL have problems with the Prestolite system.

Hey, Ozarkjeep...check your private mail...I am not sure about the 4 prong connector the connection on the dist. has only one plug and it looks like one female and one male prong....Ben
