MB value?

An ad in our local auto-seller rag has a fella offering up a "1944 Willys Jeep" for $3500. Of course, being sight unseen, I can't comment on the state of repair, but even in mint, stock-restored condition, about how much would an MB go for?

Re: MB value?

I've seen them completely restored sell for $4,000 to $35,000 depending on how equipped and how well the restoration was done. The one for $35,000 looked like it just came out of the factory complete with all the trimmings including pioneer tools on the side, dummy machine gun, and trailer. The one for $4,000 looked like someone slathered some od paint on a stock beatup trail Jeep and called it a resto. If the thing is original or not too hacked, runs and drives, has minimal rust, etc. then it probably could be worth $3,500. If incomplete, or very rusty, then worth $500 and up. Good luck. Nickmil.

Re: MB value?

There was a place in Weiser, Idaho that ten years ago sold restored MB's and GPW's for about $10000. As far as I know that did not include canvas, shovel, ax, etc, just the Jeep. WWII Jeep prices are really determined by the buyer and how bad he wants it. I saw one sell on E-bay a few months ago for $12000, and it had everything, but who knows how complete the resto was. If it is complete, running, unrestored, and not modified to the point that it is unrecognizable $3500 is probably not a bad price. Otherwise I really don't like to pay more than $1000 for a flattie, but I am a patient cheapskate and willing to wait for the right deals to come along.
