SWB Folks Rock!

I just got home from an extended weekend jaunt to my "outlaws" in Atlanta. How does this apply?... Read on.
I was able to contact Bluesman2a on Thursday and found out he lives only 5-6 miles from where I'm at. I went over on Friday to watch the "cage fest" going on. Both Herb (bluesman2a) and Andrew (rice701) were in the middle of heavy cage mods. In the driveway, with minimal tools, they doing it up H8 style! Those guys are my kinda people. It was great to hang out and shoot the bull/Jeeps for awhile. Hopefully, I wasn't too big a hinderance to their efforts.
On top of that, Herb hooks me up with a trailride. Their club, Southern Jeeps, was doing an easy/moderate ride to north GA. on Saturday. After no response from email or phone, I tried the "show up and beg" approach. Had a blast riding with those folks and seeing the scenery (as opposed to more ballgames and hangin with my idiot relatives).
My thanks goes out to Herb, Andrew, and Southern Jeeps.

Re: SWB Folks Rock!

On a very similar note:

I'm up in southern New Jersey and Jim (Pontiac58) was kind enough to pick me up in his Jeep and take me out for some local 'wheeling. We put in a few hours of good Jeeping fun, watched his friend bust a front passenger shackle mount on an '89 YJ, and got to BS a lot about Jeeps with someone who really knows a lot about them.

The 'wheeling up here is so much better than what us Florida Flatlanders have got! However, I don't envy you the cold one bit! His stock CJ heater system kept us nice and toasty, I even took off my jacket and folded the window down to keep from getting baked out.

He also showed me the '58 Pontiac that he gets his name from- what a sweet ride!

Thanks again, Jim, for taking the time to show me around and take me 4-wheeling.

Re: SWB Folks Rock!

Dang, sorry Rich, I did think about you & Dave, but figured it was a bit far. Next time down, we'll hookup and down a few.

Did Dave get that Jeep yet? Tell him not to be ashamed of the GSAs.

There was a girl at Amicalola wheeling a stock TJ along with the 35" clad YJ/TJ crowd. Now, she didn't quite have your "drive it like you stole it" style, but still had a blast. She didn't even disco the sway bars and I kept hearing her squeal at every hole.
