It's nice to be back, my computer has been OOC for several weeks now and I haven't been able to post.
I want to install a Accel Super Coil on my 304 but I'm not real shure about it's compatibility with the BID (Breakerless Inductive Discharge) System on my 75 CJ-5. Is my coil balasted? Is the Super Coil balasted? What's the best way to find out?
I would hate to roast something, LIKE THE DREADED BLACK BOX!
HAPPY NEW YEAR, Glad to be back
Re: Super Coil
i wouldn't waste my $$$ on an accel coil. i have had 3 in the bast and all 3 went bad. the first was an accel super stock coil. it didn't work from the get go. the next was a super coil. it worked for a while but one day it literally blew up on me!!!! i had never even heard of a coil blowing up! i was told later that it wasn't very common but it can happen....obviously. the last was another super stock coil. it worked for a year or so and then i took it off for a while and it sat for a year. i went to put it back on again and it didn't work. i have never had a problem with a coil in anything i have ever had except the accel brands. i can't see 3 different coils being a fluke.
it's one ton o' fun!
