ATTN H8 - Astro Pitman Arm

Hey Jeff, you said that my best bet for a flat pitman arm for my YJ would be from a Chevy Astro Van. Any idea on the year? I found a yard with a late 80's Astro, and they want $20 for the pitman. Sound like a decent deal? And other options for a pitman, or you think this is my best bet? It's not any longer than my stock one, just doesn't have the drop, correct? Thanks Jeff!

Re: ATTN H8 - Astro Pitman Arm

If you want a flat pitman to replace the slight drop pitman on a stock YJ just use a stock CJ pitman. The stock CJ pitman is flat and is very close to the same length. I actually put a stock YJ pitman on my CJ to help with some slight bumpsteer after my 2.5" lift. All you have to do is use a hacksaw to make a couple of new grooves for the steering box's shaft. It is an easy mod and can be done in a few minutes provided you can get the stock arm off(rust).

Re: ATTN H8 - Astro Pitman Arm

I think all of the astrovans are the same, just double check it before you buy it. I dont have a stock YJ arm to compare it to. I have a few different arms laying around, but I dont know what all of them came off of.
