TJ with 4\" lift and 35\'s?

I was just wondering if anyone is running 35 inch tires with only a 4 inch lift? Tera Flex says you can, but it seems most people also have an additional 1 inch body lift.
Thank you for your input. Rick

I ran 2" suspension + 2" body with 35's and never disconnected the sway bar. It was great in mud and most light trails, and never had a problem with rubbing. I now have the teraflex 4" + a 2" body, and with the swaybar disconnected, I can get them to rub the flares.

Thanks. Did you try running them without the 2 inch body lift?

It's definetally doable though to get a little more room people usually add a 1" body lift or 1" spacer to the springs. Elusive ran a re 4.5" kit on his wife's tj w/ 35's for a while, i think they rubbed a little though not too bad, if you needed more room i bet you could cut an inch off your flares and your fender wells.

No, never ran it without the body lift. It was already on, I just took off the 2" coil spacers and put on the tera lift. I would put at least a 1" body with it if you plan to use it for anything more than mud. You'll have room for the tires without eating the fenders, but you'll definitely hit the flares.

rick, how much wheel travel do you have with the 31's on a 4 inch lift? Do you have a pic? I have 33's on 4 inch, and my tires stop just before hitting the flare. I want 35's next, but I plan on adding spacers. You'd definitely rub disconnected with 35's on 4

I was rubbing with 35s and 4" lift at full flex connected. Not too bad though. I guess having sagged springs will also cause to rub. A 4" susp. and a 1" body should keep you from rubbin disconnected though.

Re: TJ with 4\" lift and 35\'s?

I have no problems with the 31's rubbing with either the Tera 3 or 4 inch lift (have had both springs)other than with the stock offset and 10.5" wide tires. I have pictures, but they are too big (bytes) to post. I have a tried many times. Rick

no I knew you wouldn't have any trouble with wheel travel, so wanted to see 31's on a 4 inch lift. could try cropping the pic, works for me
