Shackles or Body

What is better a 2" body lift or a 1" body lift with 1" lift shackles? How much do the lift shackles effect the ride quality?

either would be fine. shackles can mess with steering but a 1" should work fine. i like a longer shackle personally but 1" of lift is about max for what i would consider using. either will work for you but if you just use the 2" body it will be cheaper.

it's one ton o' fun!

Just remember, if you are worried about aesthetics, the lift shackles to gain 1" of lift have to be 2" longer than stock. IMO long shackles look goofier than the slight gap between the body and frame of a 2" body lift. Also, longer shackles limit your front approach angle, you end up hitting the shackle sooner. Thats real important around here, thats why you don't see too many rigs with longer shackles.

IMO, 1" body is the MAX! I cannot stand anymore on a Jeep. It looks cheap and ugly. But then again, that's what it is. As for the shackles, the cons have been expressed. It can mess with steering and approach angles, and I've heard(but probably isn't true), that they're harder on the springs. Is there anything smaller than a 1" lift shackle?

What size tires are you trying to run with 2" of lift or are you adding this on top of a suspension lift? I would say 1" body 1" shackle or cut either out of the equation and add tj flares. They should give you the clearance you of about a 1" lift.
