BDS

OK, I an ready to order my 4" BDS springs for my 86CJ7. I have checked some of the past posts here and have some concerns.

1 What is better to use the YJ or CJ springs? If so do I need special shackles?

2 If these spring sag, will BDS replace them?

Re: BDS

I belive front YJ springs are wider and require new shackles and spring hangers to work on a CJ. As for which one is better, I don't really know. I know lots of people switch to YJ fronts, but don't know why. Anyone?

As for their replacement garuntee, why not just call and ask?

Re: BDS

I am in the process of an axle swap and SOA on my CJ. I am going to use 2-2.5" BDS YJ springs. The reason is that the Yj springs are longer and flexier. I called BDS and asked them if i ran their springs in the SOA configuration if it would void the warranty and the rep. assured me that it would not.

The reason for me using BDS is that they have full military wrap springs, they are double tapered w/ teflon pads, and a lifetime "no questions asked" warranty. i am going to use MORE boomerang shackles at all four corners so i will let you know how it works. As far as the fixed spring mount on the frame the stock CJ mounts will work. the CJ's just use a wider bushing in the front to take up the extra space. the rear CJ spring is the same width as the YJ spring.
