If you're willing to spend the money I love my Rancho 9000s with the incab adjuster. Make them as hard or soft as you want, with the push of one button...

Re: best shock for 1990 yj

I had a set of the Rancho 5000's on my 1990 YJ with an add a leaf lift. I liked them and they worked great. They are relatively cheap and seem to last. Rick

Re: best shock for 1990 yj

I'm running 5000's on my YJ. They seem to work great! Not too stiff, not too soft. If I had the cash, I'd of gone with 9000's. But then again, if I HAD the cash.

Re: best shock for 1990 yj

I did an axleswap/SOA. The leafs are stock. When those flex pics were taken I had no shocks. My front isn't going to have any problems, but the rear shocks are too short. So I'm going to have to do some adjusting to the setup. But I'm going to wait until I get stationed in NY.
