O/T Just Really Glad X-mas Is Over...

All I ever get for X-mas is large bills, fights at the family dinner, and 5 or 10 extra pounds around the middle...

I'm glad to see everyone, but I'm always very relieved I survived the 'Silly Season'....

One more holiday 'till sanity sets back in (just about the same time the credit card bills show up...)

Later folks,
Aaron.

So many cats, so few recipes...

Re: O/T Just Really Glad X-mas Is Over...

I agree. This was probably the worst Christmas ever for me. Oh sure, the presents were great, but that isn't what the day is all about. To start, my folks were on my butt for not comming home for the holiday. Then live in girl friend wouldn't get out of bed until 9 am so when my parents called at 8 and wanted to know if we had opened our presents I had to dissapoint them and make up a lie about the girl (they don't know she live with me!) Then went to the girl's parents house for dinner. Right away the whole family begins to fight. Dad with son's - two brothers with sister - son's with mother and mother with dad. Then I was incharge of cooking the turkey in a turkey fryer. Didn't know how long to cook it for - her mom was suposed to find out - of course she didn't. It took three different attempts to cook the damn thing. After dinner I told the girl that I needed to be home by 7 to call my folks (9 pm on the east coast) At 6:10 the girl told me that we were going to run to the nieghbors to exchage gifts. We finally got out of there at 9:30! I was not a happy camper.

Of course it could be worse. At least I got to spend the holiday with a loved one. There are those who did not. But I am glad that it is over - no more Christmas music for another 11 months!

My girlfriend said if I spent one more dime on my Jeep she would leave. Man I'm going to miss her!

One more holiday to get over, then back to normal. I try not to go anywhere with a lot of people from Thanksgiving until after New Year's in fear I might have to kill someone out of frustration. I try to stay positive to not piss of the wife and familiy, but man some people just shouldn't be allowed to breed and be in public.
