Questions for DJ Guys

I have the opportunity to get some cheap parts from a salvage yard that is dissmantling about 4 DJs. I was wondering if it is worth my time, are the parts interchangable with CJ-7s? such as hood, and engine stuff (258) mainly the intake and ignition guts.

Just wanted to know before I drive 1.5 hours to find out for myself. thanks

Re: Questions for DJ Guys

Some engine parts may be interchangable depending on what years you have. The hood and fenders on the DJ are not interchangable. They are 3" shorter than a CJ7's front clip as DJ's never got the longer front end that CJ's got in '72. You might want a grille from one if you ever want a big engine. They give you about 3" more clearance for the fan even though they're kinda ugly.

underneith the rear you will see a dana 44 and most came factory with limited slips. The gear ratio will be 3.73. also even tho the front is 2wd from the knuclkes out are interchangeable with 4wd. it will have full time caps on the end. brakes are same. Interior gauges are same. springs are same. Most have two speed powerglide auto, which are good for hot rods. if its 4 cly iron duke it will have chevy bell housing bolts. steering is saginaw some power. rims are same.
