2002 Jeep Liberty 4WD Sport

I have a question about my Jeep Liberty. When I back out of my driveway it sounds like the back axial is not lubricated because it makes a grinding sound. It feels like the brakes are sticking when I back up only. They seem fine braking going forward. Does anyone have any ideas of what might be wrong?

Are you in 4wd or 2wd when this happens? Do have Command-trac or Selec-trac? Command-trac will bind the driveline at wheel lock on dry pavement.

It happens when I'm in 2wd and I have Selec-trac. I think it could be something in the rear brakes but I'm not sure.
