Jeep Liberty Rims Flaking

Has anyone else noticed that their Jeep Liberty (Limited) Rims are flaking around the Jeep center cap?? I noticed this the other day and called Chrysler about it, but was told they were not doing anything about it because no one else has complained. I talked to my service guy and he said for the last 2 months he has noticed that the rims on the Jeep Liberty's are rusting inside where that center cap is. He said that water is laying in there and the rust is causing it to corrode on the outside. Has anyone else had this problem and if so has anyone put a complaint into Chrysler???

Bothered to ask this on the Jeep Liberty forum?

Click on Main Index above, then scroll down farther than you did before, until you see the forum you want.

AJM, it's not a liberty, it's a KJ... (it's a jeep thing) ...i wish jeep would hurry up and come out with more models so that they use up all the 26 combinations... eventually they'll have to have the BJ and the OJ

That's not so funny - Toyota already covered the "BJ's."

"BJ" identifies diesel Land Cruiser models and "FJ" identifies gas- or petrol-engined LC's.

22-006-01 SEP 01 Wheel/Center Cap - Rust Streaking

For what it's worth....this is a technical service bulletin that was issued on the kj. You have a bumper to bumper warranty. Make them replace the rims.
