Manual Trans Vibrations???

Hey all. I just bought a Liberty with the V6 and 5 speed. After driving it for a few days, it seems there's quite a bit of vibration coming from the engine during acceleration. Almost like the balance shaft is out of sync or something.

I also just spent about 1,000 miles behind the wheel of a similiarly equiped Liberty with an automatic and it was smooth as silk. None of the vibration or noise mine seems to have.

So, I'm trying to figure out whether there's something wrong with mine and if I should start complaining to the dealer. Is the manual just not smooth, or do I have a problem here? Its the only V6/5sp around here, so I can't just go drive one to compare. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Yours is the first manual tranny Kj I've even heard of. I would take it straight back to the dealer for warranty. There's no excuse for vibration like you're describing. My auto tranny is smooth as silk most of the time.A couple hick ups here and there but no big deal. Good Luck

Re: Manual Trans Vibrations???

The dealer says that's just the way it is. I drove another V6/5sp (albeit 2WD) and it was the same way. Sooo, a word or warning to anyone looking at this combo: it WILL drive like a truck.
