Performance Mods!?!

I recently bought a Liberty Sport and I love it. I pretty much got the full meal deal, Tow Package, Security Package, Convienence Package and Offroad Package. But I want to know about any basic performance modifications I can make to increase HP or fuel economy. Or any other fun stuff.

Re: Performance Mods!?!

lots of stuff already available especially for such a new vehicle.Spacer lift kits, cat back exhausts, nerf bars/rock rails, skid plates, intakes,filters..... not to try and pry you away from this BBS I would suggest you check out Jeeps Unlimited Liberty Board.Do a search on "usefull Links" I think ,and there is a pretty good compilation of whats out there. Have fun and enjoy your KJ.
P.S. don't let the detractors over there worry you at all. Every BBS has them. Best advice is to just ignore them . it frustrates the heck out of them and they eventually go away

Re: Performance Mods!?!

I hope you get as much enjoyment out of your new Libertys as I have gotten from my 1986 XJ Cherokee for the past 16 years.

The Board traffic will pick up; it took the Mid Sized Board (XJ,MJ,ZJ and WJ) a good 18 months to get rolling.

Hey, if any of you guys find a lift for the Liberty, please let me know. Thats the ONLY thing stopping me from buying one. Thanks.

Try rustys off road and rocky road outfiters. I believe they have KJ kits.

Re: Performance Mods!?!

3.7 V6 (Factory ratings [email protected]/[email protected])

1. Magnaflow 2.5" cat-back exhaust: 22hp/31lbft
2. Drop-in K&N filter: 3hp
3. Volant air intake: ?
3. JET Stage 2 PCM: ?
4. ASE chip: ?
5. Kenne-Bell supercharger: 275hp total output

The 3.7 V6 produces 155.5rwhp/184.5rwtq in stock form. That's 194hp/231lbft at the flywheel (20% drivetrain loss).

Re: Performance Mods!?!

Skyjacker has a very nice kit out for the KJ, bigger beefer coils, shocks, struts nice package. I am waiting for the folks from ProComp to put the finishing details on their kit before I buy. I was talking with the engineers from ProComp at the SEMA show in November and they were testing it out. They however did not have an ETA on the kits release.

I looked at several kits that just did the coil spacers and they didn't really look up the the task. I think they would be fine for on road use.
