Re: anyone run this?
The 229 is not the best case to use...the viscous couplers are prone to failure, there are 200 some-odd individual needle bearings, and its extremely heavy with jickity vacuum solenoid. It would be best for most to swap to a part-time case.

Re: anyone run this?
was considering a NP229 because of the full time hi range and a lock lo range,as i am putting it into a AMC Eagle that has full time but no lo
range.yes a part time would be ok as well, but i cant seem to find any that isnt 4-5-600.00 but have found 150.00 NP229's Not worth spending that kind of money on a car that is limited offroad.I found a 207 for 50.00 including rear driveshaft from a XJ,everyone says a 207 is to weak, plus it
would need a input shaft change from 21 to 23,another expense .Still i would buy a 207 if price was right and it was a 23 spline, anyone have one??
