More wagoneer questions

Thank you for your help on the axles. I got some pics today to confirm what they are. Also I am wondering about the transmission and transfer case. It has a 258 Inline 6 ford motor with a auto trans.I got a back view picture of the transfer. Thanks again...Tom

Re: More wagoneer questions

amc20 rear, dana 44 front, np208,219 or 228 case.

it is NOT a Ford engine if its the factory original engine, Jeep has NEVER used a Ford designed engine in the US.

the tranny is a Torque flight 904 or 999

I hope its cheap

Re: More wagoneer questions

after years of Jeep ownership, and buying parts, and even a few times paying to have them fixed Ive gotten tired of folks calling amc engines FORD

beleive it or not, ive had MECHANICS tell me my 360 is a FORD engine, when I point out the differences, they still argue, thats when I politely refuse to pay since they dont even know what in teh hell they are working on!

so yeah, I guess you could say it hits a nerve!

no sweat though, just wanted you to know so you didnt become one of the mindless masses

Re: More wagoneer questions

I can get the wagoneer for $375.00 in running condition. I plan to let it rust me through the illinois winter and do the swap in the spring. Thanks again for the help...Tom

is that a paint job or factory?

Re: More wagoneer questions

I think it is factory. I will be selling anything and everything off it in the spring. That will help me pay for my conversions. Here is a pic of my truck this year at Moab. Now if I only had solid axle and a better low gear.......Tom
