are the bolt patterns the same?

I want to replace a 360 with a small block chevy in front of a TH400. The whole setup will be going on a 3/4 ton truck frame from 1975.

I am curious iff the bolt pattern is the same or am I going to have to find an adapter?

Thanks for the help

It's different. You can either find an adapter or find a GM version of the TH400 and swap the innards and/or tailshaft and transfer case adapter.

Re: are the bolt patterns the same?

I would stick with the 360. Parts for it are still plentiful. The only reason it gets a bad rap when compared to the Chevy 350 is the lack of aftermarket goodies and repair parts aren't found as readily as the chevy stuff, but more aftermaket stuff seems to appear every year for the 360.
