Chevy swap, anyone done it

Well I have had enough, I cant find crap for My Wagon. I am thinking seriously of swapping the whole drivetrain and engine to chevy.

I have a good running engine, trans and transfer case. Do you think I can just raise it up and bolt it it? I will have to figure something out for engine mounts. And getting a front end with the pumpkin on the right side.

I thought the stock engine was running great, I mean it runs good. But after changing the pan gasket and finding bearing material and other little pieces of metal. I'm thinking either a rebuild or a swap. What do you guys think?

Thanks

What tranny do you have? It may be easier (and cheaper) to buy an x-case that bolts up and has the correct front drop...

I have a t-350, I just went thru all of advance adapters site and I cant find anything that hooks up to a NP229. I guess thats the transfer case that I have. 85 Grand wagoneer, I might have a lead on a marriage plate for it. But am still thinking the whole swap, front and rear end included. Thanks

Re: Chevy swap, anyone done it

well if u have the 229 than i hope u still have the tranny that it bolted too which shood be the TF727, and AA part 716131-A will bolt the 727 to a GM v8.

this way u only have to buy one adaptor.
