79 j-10 or 75 j-10???????

please help!!

I am the proud owner of a 1979 j-10 with a 360, th400 and q/t. It has d44 front and rear. This jeep runs fairly well but the brakes dont work and the tranny shifts while running yet truck goes no where (maybe it just needs new fluid and filter, I dont really know yet). I am a collage student with a collage student budget, meaning broke, and I am no machanic.

With that said, I recently ran into a good deal ,I thought, about a 75 j-10 that is driven nearly every day for about 1200-1500 dollars. It has a 6 cylinder, 3-spd manual and 33's other than that im not shure. The guy said that he would also throw in a 304 and a 4-spd manual (hopefully a T-18) for free.

My question is should I get rid of the my 79 and get the 75? Any other info or opinions about these trucks would be greatly appreciated. If I get the 75 j-10 I will have a 79 j-10 for parts or whole to get rid of. Anyone that is interested can email me at [email protected] I am located near Orlando Florida.
thanks
