95 Jeep GC - Vibration

Have a 95 Jeep GC V-8 with 183K. I have a vibration felt in front end and into steering wheel at 1500 RPM. Vibration is felt in nutral at 1500 RPM as well. Any ideas as to what it may be? Thanks.

Re: 95 Jeep GC - Vibration

check for a cracked belt or a belt with a chunk out of it, pulley with a chunk out of the edge, dirt lodged in the dish part of a pulley, loose mounting on PS, Alt, Air,...
If the vibration is felt at 1500 with the Jeep parked it has to be engine related.

Re: 95 Jeep GC - Vibration

Check the crossmember where the exhaust pipe crosses, and the transmission mount as well. The mount is made of rubber, and it will degrade over time. Faster with heavy off-road use, or towing.
