64 Wagoneer / is this any good ???

For a long time, I have been thinking of getting a FS. Just now I have been offered a 64 wagoneer for free..

Just thinking about it now and I really don't even know what I am getting involved in here.

Where can I find more info about what they came with and maybe some more pics.

The guy says it is a project that he lost interest in. Comes with chevy 400 and body has "minor" rust.

I'm daydreaming about dana 60s and 44" swampers underneath... Is this gonna be fun or a headache?

TIA

Fun or Headache is your call - IMHO

Do you want something to drive right away or something to work on for a couple years?
I like Full Size. I'd take it for free - quick

Check out this site too - http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php
Lots of good knowin over there.

Also check Jeep Tech - http://www.jeeptech.com/ (probably more short Jeep info but still good pages)

IIRC - 1964 was second year of Wagoneer production. Stock it would have 230 OHC I6 engine, Borg Warner 3spd auto trans, D20 t/c without low range (I think different designation but drawing a blank), D44 rear, D27 closed knuckle front - independent front suspension was optional or std ...can't remember which but both used the D27 center section.
