Wagoneer REAR sway bar set up HELP!

I am looking for the rear sway bar assembly for a '72-'79 Wagoneer. They also were also made for '80-'90 Waggies but not sure what the difference there is to the earlier version. Will they interchange? I want to put a Waggie sway bar set up under a Jeepster that has a '87 Waggie D-44 rear end under it. Can anyone help me out please?

Never seen a REAR swaybar on a Waggie or Chero... only fronts and some models didn't even have them... My 78 never came with one... my 80 W/T does.

Re: Wagoneer REAR sway bar set up HELP!

I think what you are probably looking for is not called a sway bar. It is called the track bar. It has no effect on body roll. What it does is keep the axel centered. The Idea is that if the suspension is the only thing keeping the axel in place it may end up moving left and right. This is the case with coil over set ups. But you don't really need a track bar if you are running leafs out back.

Re: Wagoneer REAR sway bar set up HELP!

Some Wags and Chero (Full Size) and even GW's in the 80's thru 91 came equipped with track bars... I have no idea why since the leaf packs work to hold the axle under the Jeep and don't require one...

On that note... my W/T DOES NOT have a trackbar but DOES have a front swaybar...

Dang....I found a waggie with them on it and Addco shows them on their web site. They even list two types for the 80-90 GW. Wonder how far off in width the XJ Cher... is to a GW.
