Proud new owner of a FSJ

After about a month of looking I finally found a Waggie! I paid for it yesterday and I am picking it up after work today!!
1988, 166K miles. The 360 has been well maintained and perhaps even rebuilt. Has a brand new rear main seal. The trans feels as strong as any auto I have driven. And it has a lot of new parts. The guy was asking $1600, But I talked him down to $1000. I feel like I got a pretty good deal, and even if I didn't I am way pumped to finally own a waggie, I have always wanted one.

I really don't know anything about them (FSJ's) But I sure and excited to learn, and I think I am going to become a regular on this board!

I was wondering if anyone could recamend a good Waggie refrence. Repair manual, books, web pages. Anything. My "new to me" does need some TLC and I want to do the work myself.

Thanks for any help.
Super happy to be a FSJ owner

Thanks.

Re: Proud new owner of a FSJ

Thanks Riverbeast. Your sight is a really good source for info. After seeing what you started with, mine all of the sudden doesn't look that bad. And my only goal is to keep it running well. Not really too interested in building it up (yet).
I was looking around on the internet and did come across the ifsja.org sight and it IS full of good stuff. And it looks like that forum is probably more active than this. I think that maybe after getting a little more fimular with the sight I may join that forum. (although if I become a member of two, I may not ever be able to get any actual work done at work.. Thanks again
