Shoulder harness

Looking for some safety gear for my J-200, since that wheel and all steel dash ain't very face-friendly. Also looking for a tailgate - I figure finding a honest politician might be easier. What would be a good donor vehicle. Any assist appreciated.

Re: Shoulder harness

sweetass truck

late wags or grand wags had them ( and they even say JEEP on them maybe)

otherwise, Id rob some belts from anything you could find, and mount them solid thru some large backing plates.

good luck

Re: Shoulder harness

Thanks - going to the junkyard to play snake-tag tomorrow Had some original belts, but I think I'd like something a little sturdier. I can make some mounts and weld them to the interior if need be; I was just looking for the best option.

Re: Shoulder harness

What year is the truck? My 1970 J-3000 has factory lap belts. I bought the truck from the origional owner and have the accessory booklet that came with the truck which lists shoulder belts as an option. The truck has threaded mounts on the back wall for them, just bolt them in. I just have never been able to find a set of shoulder belts.

Re: Shoulder harness

It's a J-200 Kaiser Gladiator. There are eyelets for mounting the belts behind the seat, but I want something a little face friendlier. Considering the all steel dash and hard plastic wheel, I'd like to go with a shoulder harness of some sort. I drive it daily and occasionally haul kids.
