As many of you know, I have been searching the country for a fuel tank to fit my 81 J10. I just found one right here a few miles from my home. I haven't seen the truck yet but supposedly it's a 1986 J10 with a 360 and auto tranny. Both have about 200k on them but no major problems. The guy says I can take anything I want from the truck or just take the whole thing. Is there anything special I should look for that might be worth taking for my 81? I have a 360 in mine but it's a standard. I just don't want to pass up a good opportunity if this truck has a goody in it that would upgrade my 81. My body is in great shape so I don't need any body parts. I'm thinking I might want the auto tranny if it will fit in my truck without any major problems.
If you want the auto tranny (don't know why), you need the trans cover (floor), steering column, linkages, trans, cooler lines, and transmission cooler. (If it has a tow kit, you're all set. The cooler is external.) If it looks and runs good, I'd buy (get) it, and resell it.
