Turbo 400

I have a turbo 400 transmission, dated May 1972. This trans is a Jeep original that has the adapter plate (2-3 inches ??) to mate to a amc V8.

My question is, What engine(s) does the trans bolt directly up to WITHOUT the adapter plate?

Please help. Thanks,

Re: Turbo 400

Mid 60's Buick/Olds/Cadillac big block motors. This tranny was referred to as "round top." Jeep got a deal on these trannies and used them thru '73 on several different engines with a different adapter for each make engine. The AMC cased TH-400 debuted in '74 and was always mated to a Quadra-Trac xfer case.
