G Waggy Help!

I just recently purchased a 1986 Grand wagoneer and everything is at a working standard except the fact that the recent owner ripped out the smog system under the hood and my window motor on the left driver side doesn't work! So I was just wandering if paying $1500 for a wagoneer is too much and also did I get a good vehicle? Oh and I was also needing a window motor as well.

Re: G Waggy Help!

Yes! Any Full-Size Jeep purchase is a great one! $$ wise, as long as the body is in good to great shape and the drivetrain is decent, you did not pay too much. (G-Wags vary greatly from place to place, but you can pick them up for as little as $350.00 and as much as $12,000.00) As for the smog stuff, do you need it for registration? If so, Haynes, the TSM and the tech section of IFSJA.org have excellent diagrams on putting stuff back together. If not, get out yer plugs and yank that stuff off of there!! As for the window motor, the 'for sale' board over at IFSJA.org has a few g-wags that are being parted out, or you can really pay a lot of money for a new one from your local Jeep dealer.

I hope that helps
