$1500 for an GWaggy good?

I was looking for parts for my CJ-5 when I ran across this 85 Grand Waggy, 360 with 60K on rebuild, D44 in front, D20 in back (is that bad?) couldn't find the number on the transfer case, but it was selectable. There is some rust on the quarter panels that will require replacing and some minor damage to the front left corner. It had been sitting there for about a month and wouldn't start. Just needs a good jump I think. Besides for above mentioned problems it seems in quite good condition. Fair price, or could I find one for less? Are there better Waggies, older maybe. I've suddenly become very interested in owning one. Is there anything to look out for or to know befor getting into one?

When in doubt, whip it out.

Re: $1500 for an GWaggy good?

rust and electrical problems are the most common suprises, check the frame rail nearest the fuel tank, for rust very well, some have rusted in half there.

$1500 isnt a bargain around here, especially for one with rust and body damage.

the rear is a AMC20 Heavy duty, stronger than the AMC20 found in CJs.

too small to be seen, and too big to control, and treated like a walking bomb...
