auto gearbox woes
Have a 94 isuzu bighorn (trooper in USA?) 3.1ltre turbo desiel with 4 speed auto and lock up torque converter.
This may also be a honda something?? Suv 5 and 7 seater options.
The Problem. Auto gearbox that changes down two gears and takes to motor beyond its powerband. Gearbox has been rebuilt but towing horses and float it next to useless. Revs and doesnt pull. Common problem for all of this model.
Have been told it is a 'cat' motor, and 'jeep' gearbox.
Has anyone worked with this configuration, is there an after market chip to improve performance, or can you beat it with a hammer to make it work. It not like the old days of retorquing the bands.
Bring back power glides, old chev and chrysler autos all is forgiven!!!
