90 Trooper-2.6 Surging Idle
I just replaced the headgasket/refinished the head. When I push in the clutch at a stop the idle surges between 1000 & 1800 RPM, sometimes it can be kicked down, like the choke is stuck and will idle just fine. As soon as you come to the next stop it surges again. I have checked/replaced the vacuum lines that were cracked, new throttle return spring, new thermostat, cleaned the air sensor, cleaned/adjusted the idle adj screw, replaced the manifold gaskets, and cleaned the throttle body. What's next?
I have seen a similar indication when the thermostat gets stuck closed and the temp climbs. Is there a sensor that could have been damaged when the headgasket went and the motor over heated?? Runs fine other wise.
