3 to 4 speed?
Well, I am becoming aware of my 152's lack of power! I live in a very windy area, and going up hills on the highway when it's not windy isn't too bad, but when it's blowing my scout sure has a rough time. 3rd gear wont do it, and 2nd gear makes my scout's engine rev at what sounds like 8000 rpm!
Would swapping in a 4 speed help me out by giving me that extra gear? What's involved in this swap?
Re: 3 to 4 speed?
According to Outback Parts in Spokane WA, converting a Scout 80 / 152 / 3 speed to a 4 speed is very difficult. They said the 4 speed bellhousing is very difficult to find.
