A/C and heater

My '72 has A/C. It's not hooked up but it has what I'm guessing is the vents and fan that works separatley for the A/C only. Is that right. My heater and defrost have sepatate controls. The A/C fan works great. My concern is that the heater fan dosen't work well. It blows a little but not nearly as much as the A/C fan. What should I do???

Re: A/C and heater

I maybe totally wrong here but. I finished auto school in 70
and had my shop in the 80s. I have never seen a factory AC unit with two fans. Unless they were add-ons. Problem maybe that one of the vent doors is not opening or closing. Try this turn AC off push air slid to vent, push heater slid to heat or defrost. See if you get heat.

Re: A/C and heater

The Scout II AC system is a completely secondary system to the heat - including it's own fan and ducts.

I do agree that the poor heat problem (if it's really noisy, this is a real good indication) is likely to be as simple as opening the "flap".

IIRC, move the "vent" or "air" slider (the top one) all the way to the.. right? I don't remember any more! (been driving my Travelall)

anyhow, flip the "air" top slider and see if 1) amount of air volume goes way up and 2) amount of noise from the fan should go down.
