3 questions

My (new)'72 is running great, however I can start it with a screwdriver. I'd like some more security. How hard is it to replace?? Also wiper arm and blade assm. is not good. Can I get new ones from NAPA or do I need IH replacements??And lastly, anybody know of a parts dist. in North Carolina?? Thanks

Re: 3 questions

If you key is the same as the 74 on the side of the steering column. look at the end of it you will see a little hole along side of the key slot. Turn the key to on take a paper clip push it in the hole and push the release and it should slid out. You can replace it with chev truck one. my was $8.00 from Napa but that has been a long ago.
As for the wiper motor your are on your own. The one thing I have learned about a scout is was built by a mechanic, not an engineer

Re: 3 questions

Check with East Coast Scouts. They have a link on the Binder Bulletin's Vendors page. There are also a few more East Coast suppliers for IH specific stuff.

You may also check Jim Weeds Off-Road.com page. He has a breakdown of IH parts and NAPA cross-reference numbers.
