I just bought a '72 w/345. It was sitting for 6 months. It runs very well but when I tach it up it's sending some water through the exhaust(enough to slightly pool). Is this a result of sitting for so long or is more likely the head gasket??? It's not leaking anything else anywhere so far. I haven't had it on the road yet, just sitting there while it runs. Thanks
Most vehicles w/o cats do this. I'm assuming your 72 dosen't. It's just condensation. Once the moisture is out of the engine and the truck is warmed up it should stop. I had an 84 crown vic that I let sit for a few months and even with cats there was a stream of rusty water down the driveway when I got on it when I ran it once in a while. I hope you changed the oil by the way. Doubt it's the head gasket unless you have water in your oil or oil in your water.
