Traveler Questions

I just stopped and looked at a Traveler that needs a home. I'm thinking it would make a good daily driver/ towrig. I do have a few questions, Is the top designed to be easily removed? The holes which I assume would usually have bolts in them to hold it down were empty and there were plates bolting the roof to the side of the interior panels. When you do remove the top what happens the rear lift hatch? Is there anyway to fill in the rear area once it's gone? can you just put a terra pickup or scout 2 tailgate in it's place? I've had an eye open for A Full size cherokee for this purpose but a removable hardtop could sway me towards an International. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
Travis

Easy? The top is just bolted on. It's pretty heavy so takes two strong guys or a creative lift method.

>When you do remove the top what happens the rear lift hatch?
It just sort of flops around, you have to place the top on some saw horses and let it hang.

Yes, a terra top and Scout II tailgate will just bolt on, you would also need the bulk head.

Re: Traveler Questions

Thanks, I've never looked too hard at a Traveler before and it seemed kind of wierd that the rear hatch comes off with the top. I guess the owner just left the side bolts out when he put the roof on. I was expecting the truck to have a seperate lift gate and tail gate. I'm going to try to talk the owner out of it. I'll post pics if I can get it. Thanks
