Dana 44 hubs

are there different types of hub housings for dana 44s? i recently broke a spindle and the mechanic said that i needed to find a new hub housing. the wheel bearings and spindle seal are also housed in this part. does anyone know what this means?

Re: Dana 44 hubs

As you said, the hub housing is the piece into which the bearing races are installed - the hub lockout bolts to it with
six bolts. Used replacements should be easy to find in a junkyard, from someone parting out a Scout, or through mailorder
from Coonrod's or one of the light line dealers. The only alternative other than stock that I'm aware of is the Warn internal
spline hub conversion kit, which replaces the hub housings.

Later,
Curt
