help please

I just changed my cap and rotor and was looking for the timing number for the 345 motor in my 78 traveler so I can dial it in. Anyone have the number? Thanks

I run 17* advanced with a .019 point gap. If you are gapped down around .012, set it 7* to 10* advanced, and you time off the #8 cylinder on a IH, not #1.

Odds are, your point gap is .012 to .014

Make sure that if you have a vacuum advance distributor, you unplug the vacuum line and plug it before you time. If it starts running like hell as you approach 10*, play with your idle mixture and your idle screw till it lines out and then go back to timing. If it's really jacked up, you might need to go through this cycles 3 or 4 times.
