IH Scout II weight

Can someone tell me the approximate weight of 78 Scout II? Also, what is the best way to tow this vehicle? I was going to rent a trailer from U-Haul for a one time move but they tell me the Scout is to heavy for their trailer.

Thanks in advance.

Couldn't tell you the aproximate weight, i want to say around 6500 lbs. I had a '75 scout II xlc , awesome truck but it would sink in mud like an anchor.

hope it helps

Yes.....U-Haul and other rental places won't let you put a scout on their trailers. They weigh approx 5400 lbs wheather you have extras or alot of rust on it....lol The best way I found to tow a scout is to flat tow it. Pull the rear drive shaftand hook up the tow bar and go.

Re: IH Scout II weight

My fully optioned and full of fuel 1980 Scout II w/345/TF727/4WD hartop weighed in at 4,643 lbs. at the weigh station just across the street.

The bill at the weigh station was $7 and they were happy to weigh it.
