More Power for Skoolie ,Turbo 392?

I realize this is is a 4X4 Forum, but I figured you all could answer this question better than anyone else.
I am picking up an 81 Schoolbus converted to a race car hauler. It is equiped with a 345, in good running condition.
I know a 392 will fit, does anyone have a good engine (392) around the Dallas area for sale? Also what can be done to improve the output of the 392? I also have access to some turbocharger parts; has anyone heard of someone turbo or supercharging one of these motors, ( with a small amount of boost of course),taking advantage of there built in toughness and reliability? I would figure 4.5 lbs or so of max boost with a small air to air intercooler should do the trick. Anyone forsee any problems-except pressurizing the carb?
Thanks in advance..

you should check out
they have a forum there, and I know I read about this guy there thatwas planning on using a set of old SAAB turbo's on a 392, with like 4 PSI of boost
I dont know if he ever actually did it, but if you go there and search their forums for "turbo 392" i bet you'll come across a few topics where this idea was discussed.
I currently have a 72 travelall with a IC 392, I was going to swap that motor into my scout but I decided that the travelall is too good of a vehicle to junk. it is too rare and unique for me to get rid of it. it is just the perfect restoration project for me to start in a year or two. man it rides like a cadilac!!!
