old and new scouts

I have a 79 scout with good running gear and a bad body
I was looking at getting a 800a scout with a good body the wont start
I was thinking of putting the running gear from the 79 into the old one
Has any one done this ?
What are the problems will it switch or not
Thanks

Re: old and new scouts

Does the 800 already have a v-8 in it? If it does then all you will need is time and a welder for the axles. Motor and tranny swap shouldn't be that bad. All I can say is time and time........good luck

Re: old and new scouts

It might be easier to put the 800 body on the SII frame. Just a thought.
