WATERPUMP WORRIES.

My 345 has developed a slight grinding noise and is leeking water from the water pump housing. What gives? How do I tell if the pump is shaged? How hard is it for a novice mechanic to change? What else could it be?Any tips/pionters are greatly appreciated!

Re: WATERPUMP WORRIES.

It sounds like the bearings have gone bad and is leaking past the weep hole.
The replacement is strait forward.Remove the fan and shroud at the same time to give you room. The parts stores will ask you if you have a magnetic or regular fan.Scouts never cam with a magnetic type.Their books are wrong. The 8 hole water pump will work with fixed fans as well as clutch fans .
