t-case shift pattern

A good friend of mine is on his way to the scrapyard in search of the elusive scout dana 300 t-case[img]/wwwthreads_images/icons/laugh.gif[/img]I already told him about the year it was available.Now...maybe you can tell me what the shift pattern for the different i-h t-cases are?All help is much apreciated [img]/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif[/img]Thanks!

The Dana 300 pattern is, forward (in relation to the vehicle) to aft: 4L, N, 2H, 4H in a straight line fore-to-aft. I think the Dana 20 is the same, but I'm not sure. I don't know about any others, though. Good luck!

I think there was a t-case that had a U shaped pattern,thats the one thats really bugging me!anyone?once again,thanks for all the help[img]/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

ive only seen two of the types of transfer cases... one was (is) on a scout (I) that was (is?) forsale near where i live, (its a hunting truck and would only be usable as such, although it has little rust, the inside is all sheet metal/steel) it had a 4x4-n-2x2 lever and beside that a high-low lever the other type is the one previously descibed which is on my '78 scout II (which if you are read my post you will know is not running). Good Luck
