front body mounts

I bought a '76 Scout II about a week ago. Anyone know how I can get a hold of some directions for replacing the body mounts? I ordered the service manual and parts manual from Binder Books today... am I on the right track? First Scout... can you tell? Looks simple enough. Are the hard rubber body bushings tough to replace? I think I read someplace that it is good to replace the bushings and the 2 bodymounts at the same time. Thanks for your help.

Re: front body mounts

The body bushings are fairly simple to replace. If your Scout has a manual transmission, then you'll
need to either loosen or disconnect the clutch linkage. Not sure what you mean about replacing
the 2 body mounts at the same time, unless you're referring to the shetmetal body supports
(that rest on the body bushings) below the driver's and passenger's feet.Eric Foor wrote a
pretty good description on how to replace them - it's at
http://www.eastcoastscouts.com/techtips/tech1.html. Good luck, and don't hesitate to
post any other questions.

Later,
Curt

Re: front body mounts

Thanks for the help. Most of my questions are answered on this web site before I need to ask them! What a great place.
