I feel stupid for this one....my 79 scout II has a Holley 2bl and it needs rebuilt. the problem is I can't seem to find the model number on it..
The scout is still running and I don't want to pull the carb off till I am ready to work on it. my question is can any of you help me out and give me an idea of where the model # would be stamped on this thing? and can I see it without pulling it off the motor first? thanks in advance!
Re: carb Identification
I just rebuilt my Holley 2bbl and I just took the numbers off the float bowl. What was interesting was that the 4 digit number that I assumed was important like the list number on most Holley carbs came up discontinued, then they looked up the carb using the four digit number following a letter as a factory IH carb and it came up. That was at Radkes Auto Parts in Portland, Or., they found the kit in the back dirty and greasy with footprints on it, it was the only one they had, the great news was how great my truck runs with the rebuild. Good luck
