new to IH, need some info:)

I just picked up a '75 Scout II w/a 345 and 727 torqueflite. I also got a '79 (sans the rear half of the body) for parts w/ a 304 and a manual . I am going to swap the trannies because the 727 is shot. I was wondering if any of you might know what other parts are more desirable off the '79.
I appreciate any help anyone is willing to give. I just bought the trucks last weekend, and won't even get them to the house until this weekend, however I can't help but notice how friendly and outgoing all the IH owners seem to be. You guys have a nice thing going on here and I am excited to be part of it.

I'd suggest heading over to a more active IH forum like

but for sure you're going to want the prestolite distributor (there are stories about the goldbox units I think the '74 has) I'd hold onto the carb as well, it is not as good as a new aftermarket, but you may be able to mate it up to the 345 - not sure.

Not much else has changed... I might be interested in taking the ignition tumbler and door locks off your hands though, they're different 72-77 than the 78-80's

Good Luck,
